Bozburun has a classic Mediterranean climate: hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. The season for swimming and boat trips usually runs from late May to late October.
| Period | Weather | Sea | For boating |
|---|---|---|---|
| April – May | Mild and sunny | Cool; swimmable by late May | Quiet bays, good prices |
| June | Warm, long days | Warm and clear | Most balanced month |
| July – August | Very hot and dry | Warmest | Peak season, book early |
| September | Warm, cooler evenings | Still warm | Favourite month for a blue cruise |
| October | Mild, occasional rain | Swimmable | End of season, calm bays |
The meltem wind
In July and August a north-westerly wind, the meltem, often picks up in the afternoon. Sailors love it; on motor boats the captain plans the day around sheltered bays. Thanks to the deeply indented coastline, a calm anchorage is almost always nearby.
Our recommendation
- Fewer crowds and better prices: late May–early June, late September–October
- Warmest sea: August and September
- A week on a gulet: June or September
